Semiconductor Industry’s Stringent Demands for Ultra-High-Purity Gas Levels Met with Award-Winning Trace Analyzer from Tiger Optics
Industry Pioneer Wins Second Consecutive Gassy from Gases and Technology Magazine
Warrington, PA – September 5, 2006 – For the second consecutive year, Tiger Optics, a provider of highly precise, optical trace gas analyzers and diagnostics, received Gases and Technology Magazine’s Gassy Award at SEMICON West 2006. The magazine recognized Tiger Optics in the field of Gas Analysis for the LaserTrace O2, the industry’s first laser-based trace oxygen analyzer, detecting parts-per-trillion (ppt) in ultra-high-purity gases.
Based on Tiger Optics’ patented Continuous-Wave Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy (CW-CRDS), the LaserTrace-O2 is a critical new detection tool for bulk gas monitoring and mobile analytical cart applications. In the ultra-pure environments often found in semiconductor manufacturing, oxygen contamination can lead to costly manufacturing defects, such as undesirable oxide layer growth, which limits the free flow of electrons and ultimately slows device performance. The result: severely reduced wafer production yields.
The LaserTrace-O2 builds on Tiger’s original CRDS moisture analyzer platform and was designed by experienced instrument engineers to address deficiencies in traditional wet-cell O2 analyzers. An industry-first in many respects, this lab-in-a-box maintains self-verification capabilities that eliminate the need for field calibration, while it functions free of moving parts and toxic electrolytes.
Tiger Optics’ award-winning product line includes, its compact new mini-CRDS device, the HALO, the LaserTrace line, and the company’s flagship MTO series, and currently serves over 250 clients in the fields of semiconductor fabrication, laboratory analysis, automotive emissions, and industrial process control.
